Impact Futures is revolutionizing education by introducing relevant, cutting-edge leadership programs, including leadership-based curriculum and teacher training, into primary and secondary schools in independent African nations.
The Problem
Young African students lack critical thinking skills; we cannot afford to waste time by maintaining systems of education in primary and secondary schools that have not worked for decades. The educational programs are out of step with current world-wide trends in education. The majority of African leaders have been educated abroad due to the limiting aspects of the current educational systems.
"...the struggle against illiteracy relies largely, if not exclusively, on prevention, i.e., on primary education, which is not currently effective in either quantitative or qualitative terms." (Mokonzi).
Dr. Gratien Bambanota Mokonzi teaches on the Faculty of Psychology and Education at the University of Kisangani in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Solution
Impact Futures is the hope for the future leaders in Africa. It is a vehicle for building courageous leaders by allowing youth to identify their strengths as leaders, and by giving them the necessary tools to develop the required skill set.
By empowering, equipping, training, mobilizing, and raising the standards of accountability, this generation of future leaders can be rescued.
What We Do
- Implement a cutting edge leadership curriculum in the schools.
- Establish a scholarship fund for children who cannot afford tuition; identify donors and obtain sponsorships.
- Identify, recommend, and provide appropriate subject curriculum to participating schools; curriculum to emphasize critical thinking skills and relevant subject matter.
- Train teachers to utilize theories of multiple learning modalities, strengthening their students' abilities to synthesize information.
- Involve students in productive, community activities, allowing them to apply leadership principles.
- Establish mentoring programs to encourage children through positive role modeling.
- Assist youth in achieving their potential, dreams and visions.
- Development of new skills.
